Third Trimester Recap!

mom

These are the final weeks (or days!) of my pregnancy! I'm currently 38 weeks + 4 days pregnant!

This trimester has been much better than I expected! I had to go back to work full time at 34 full weeks pregnant. I had no idea how I would be able to do it, but I'm feeling great! My belly is growing and it's a little harder to get around, pick up Ayla, and find an outfit that's appropriate for work!

Here's an overview of my pregnancy in my third trimester:

How I'm feeling:

  • Good!!  - Mornings are still the best part of my day and I've had more energy than I expected! I tend to get tired around dinner time but still feeling good!
  • Nauseous - the last 2 weeks I started feeling a little nauseous again. Nothing seems appealing and I lose my appetite.
  • Maternity Clothes! All I want to wear is pajamas, dresses or anything comfortable and flowy. I love this top from Pink Blush! And you can wear it post-baby too
  • Excited!! - I am SO excited to be having another baby girl! We cannot wait to meet her! I started going through Ayla's old baby clothes and washed & organized them. We also have been decorating the nursery and I can't wait to do a room tour!
  • Strong - I've been following the workouts in my Fit Pregnancy Guide and I am feeling GOOD! I love moving my body and breaking a sweat! These workouts give me energy and I know that I am taking care of myself and my baby!
  • Mixed Emotions! This obviously isn't my first baby, but I'm feeling a little nervous about labor and having a second child! I'm in NO rush to get this baby out. The thought of not being pregnant anymore makes me sad. I'm going to miss this belly and these precious moments with Ayla. I know when baby girl gets here we will be over the moon in love!!! But I'm cherishing these last few weeks of my pregnancy.

Doctor's Appointments:

  • My last doctor's appointment was yesterday. I am going every week from now until the baby comes!
  • Hip pain - I've been experiencing hip pain periodically over the last couple of weeks. Their tips were to stretch, massage and use a heating pad.
  • Leg Cramps - I've only had one leg cramp this trimester!! I've been using my Comfort Oil which has helped tremendously!
  • Glucose test - I opted out of the traditional glucose test and my doctor had me monitor my blood sugar instead! My sugar levels were fine and there were no concerns!

Food:

I haven't had any cravings but there are certain foods that are more appealing than others.

Favorite food THIRD trimester:

Fruit - watermelon, apples, grapefruit, grapes, plums, peaches, etc!

Salads

Corn on the cob

Brown Rice

Smoothies

Hummus

Roasted Potatoes

Juice

Asparagus/green beans/celery/cucumber

Quinoa salad

Eggs

Peanut butter

Food I don't really like during my THIRD trimester:

Meat - chicken, beef, turkey (but I still occasionally have some)

Desserts - I haven't been eating a lot of sweets, but occasionally I'll have some ice cream!

Oatmeal

Breads

Workouts

My workouts have been awesome! I have been using my Fit Pregnancy Guide to maintain my strength and endurance. I have been exercising 5 mornings a week. Chasing around a toddler is extra cardio when you're pregnant along with cleaning, walking up stairs, grocery shopping, etc! But I am taking advantage of this extra energy!

Sleep

I'm sleeping great! I go to bed between 9:30 and 10:30 pm depending on the night. I have had a little trouble falling asleep, but I usually sleep soundly. I'm back to working full time and I have early mornings so it's nice to wake up feeling rested! I'm trying to give my body as much rest as possible, so going to bed early will ensure I get plenty of rest before my morning workout!

I can't wait to update you with my FOURTH trimester!! I can't believe we'll have a little baby to feature soon!
